Brief History of the Department (With Photographs)
The University Department of Commerce and Business Management came in to existence with the inception of Vinoba Bhave University on 17th September to 1992. The department follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). The two year course is divided into four semesters. It is one of a prime department in the university, playing a pivotal role in serving to the society by shaping the careers of the students keeping in view of changing Socio-Economic Environment.
Three storied Building has been constructed in VBU Campus by the University from the UGC Fund in the year 2008 and the Department of Commerce and Management are functioning very smoothly since 2009. The Department has a modern computer lab equipped with SPSS for research activities.
The department is located in the Sprawling- Lush Green campus. It has an excellent ambience and panoramic landscape suited ideally to a modern academic campus. The guidance for Ph.D. degree is offered in various discipline related to commerce and management.
The Department was in national news as it was the venue of three days 68th All India Commerce Conferenceâ, between 6th to 8th November 2015, many dignitaries like Smt. Droupadi Murmu, Hon'ble Governor cum Chancellor, GOJ, Sri. Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Finance, GOI, Smt. Neera Yadav, HRD Minister, GOJ, Sri. Yashwant Sinha, Ex- Minister, External Affair Ministry and Finance Minister, GOI and Sri Saryu Rai, Minister, Food and Supply, GOJ, were present. Around 1400 delegates from all over the country participated in All India Commerce Conference. The Conference elected Prof. (Dr) M. K. Singh, Head & Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Management, as President of Indian Commerce Association for 2015-16.
